Toastmasters Timing Cards

Print one full-page green, yellow, and red card for the Timer role. Every card includes a large letter and color name, making the signal easier to distinguish without relying on color alone.

How to use the cards

  1. 1Confirm the signal times. Copy the exact requirements from the speaker's project, meeting agenda, or event briefing.
  2. 2Choose a visible position. Sit where the speaker can see the card without turning away from the audience.
  3. 3Follow the agreed sequence. Display green, yellow, and red at the specified times and for the specified duration.

Check the rules for every event

These cards are visual signals, not a universal timing schedule. Pathways projects, regular club segments, special events, and speech contests can use different times and procedures.

For a contest, follow the current official rulebook and the chief judge's briefing. Do not add an overtime card or assume regular meeting procedures apply unless the event instructions say so.

Designed to work beyond color alone

Each card pairs its background color with a large G, Y, or R and the full color name. Before the meeting, ask whether a speaker needs another signal format or accommodation and agree on a signal they can perceive reliably.
